Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Research and Medical Diagnosis Applications.

Dates: May 10–11, 2024

Location: Palais Royal Hotel, Sfax

Description:

ADRIC organized a scientific symposium dedicated to Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), held on May 10 and 11, 2024, at the Palais Royal Hotel in Sfax. The event brought together educators, researchers, physicians, doctoral students, engineers, and technicians, fostering essential multidisciplinary exchanges to deepen understanding and promote the clinical application of genomic technologies.

NGS represents a major breakthrough in biomedical research and medical diagnostics, due to its ability to rapidly and accurately analyze the entire genome or targeted gene panels. This technology enables the identification of rare or complex mutations responsible for numerous genetic disorders, while also contributing to the study of molecular mechanisms underlying various diseases.

In a clinical context, integrating NGS into the diagnostic pathway significantly improves diagnostic precision, reduces result turnaround times, and paves the way for personalized care tailored to each patient’s genetic profile.

This symposium thus strengthened collaboration among stakeholders, with the primary goal of improving diagnosis, patient management, and follow-up, while supporting the significant advances enabled by NGS in research and personalized medicine.
