One health concept international conference

Dates: May 8–10, 2025

Location: Les Oliviers Palace Hotel, Sfax

ADRIC organized the first international conference on the “One Health” concept, held from May 8 to 10, 2025, at Les Oliviers Palace Hotel in Sfax.

The “One Health” approach is a collaborative, multisectoral, and transdisciplinary strategy that recognizes the close interconnection between human, animal, plant, and environmental health. In light of increasing global health threats—including emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and climate-related crises—this approach has become a key framework for prevention, risk management, and the promotion of collective well-being.

This high-level event brought together more than 100 Tunisian and international experts from diverse fields, including human and veterinary medicine, biology, ecology, agriculture, public health, and environmental protection.

At the national level, the conference marked a significant milestone in integrating the One Health concept into Tunisia’s health and sustainable development policies, encouraging dialogue between researchers, professionals, and policymakers.

At the international level, it aligned with a global movement led by major health organizations such as WHO, FAO, WOAH, and UNEP, and actively contributed to strengthening scientific synergies between the Global South and North.
